IMPORTANT
Important security enhancements have recently been introduced in Backup Manager. These enhancements strengthen the security of data in transit and protect against potential man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks.
As a result of these enhancements, Backup Manager is no longer compatible with any form of TLS interception, including Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) or SSL/TLS inspection performed by firewalls, proxies, or security gateways.

What this means

If TLS interception is enabled in your environment, it will interfere with secure communication between Backup Manager and Cove services.

NOTE
This may result in backup failures or interruptions.

Required action

Starting November 2nd, these security enhancements will be enforced. To ensure uninterrupted backup operations, action is required before this date.

To remain compliant, do one of the following:

• Disable TLS interception for Backup Manager traffic, or
• Fully exclude Backup Manager endpoints from any DPI/SSL inspection
