PREREQUISITES
- Make sure the virtual machine is properly shut down before starting the conversion process.
- Verify that the version of the virtual machine you intend to convert to Syneto Hyperion is compatible (as shown in the table below). If the version is not listed, the conversion will not work properly.
IMPORTANT

NOTE
Even if the conversion fails due to an unsupported version, you can still install that OS version on Syneto Hyperion as a new VM. In this case, the VM will function properly.
Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI
https://<your_ip_address_or_hostname>
Step 2. From Virtualization menu, click on Hypervisors

Step 3. Select the VMware ESXi VM you want to convert into a Syneto Hyperion VM

Step 4. In the top right corner, click on the three dots and then on Convert to Hyperion

The system will create a new VM (the converted VM) with the same name, without the UNREGISTERED icon.
Step 5. Select the VM you want to register into a Hyperion VM

Step 6. In the top right corner, click on the three dots and then on Register

Step 7. Select Register on 172.16.254.1, then click Register

Step 8 (optional). Power-on the converted Hyperion VM
At the first power on, the system will install the VirtIO drivers. Several reboots of the guest VM may occur during the driver installation.
