PREREQUISITES
If the import is performed to convert the VM and migrate both its storage and compute resources to Syneto Hyperion, it is mandatory to ensure that the VM has been properly stopped before starting the import procedure.

Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI

https://<your_ip_address_or_hostname>

Step 2. From Virtualization menu, click on Hypervisors

Step 3. Click on Add hypervisor button

Step 4. Fill in the required fields to add an external VMware ESXi and click the Add button

Step 5. Manually protect the External VM ("How to Create a VM Recovery Point in SynetoOS 6")

Step 6. Clone the External VM ("How to Clone a VM in SynetoOS 6")

Set the VM name to be the same as the original VM protected by the external VMware ESXi host

Step 7. Convert the Clone VM ("How to Convert an ESXi VM into an Hyperion VM")
