How to wipe disks before install Hyperion on Bare Metal servers

This operation requires a complete shutdown of the physical host.

PREREQUISITES

GParted: download the ISO file;
Java: verify that Java is correctly installed on your workstation, to support the installation of the operating system;
 

Step 1. Physically remove storage pool disks from the server

Step 2. Run the ISO from IPMI ("How to mount an ISO via IPMI")

Step 3. Select GParted Live (Default settings) and press Enter

 

Step 4. Select Don't touch keymap and press Enter

 

Step 5. Select the language and press Enter

 

Step 6. Press 0

 

Step 7. Select the correct disk you want to wipe

IMPORTANT
On this page you cannot move with the mouse, but you must use the virtual keyboard.

 

Step 8. Wipe partitions

NOTE

- The operation must be applied to all partitions on the selected disk.
- No changes will be committed until the modifications are explicitly approved.
- Navigation is performed using the TAB key.
- When an item is highlighted in grey (verify in the top-right corner that the device has not changed), continue pressing TAB until the red circled X is reached, then press ENTER.
- The action will be marked as PENDING and will require confirmation.
- Final approval will take place in Step 9.

 

Step 9. Confirm the changes

Steps 7, 8 and 9 must be performed on each disk from which you want to delete all existing partitions.
