Step 1. Login to IPMI GUI

Step 2. Perform a backup of the current configuration (Maintenance menu, IPMI Configuration option)

Step 3. Verify current firmware version (System menu)

Step 4. Identify motherboard model (System menu, FRU Reading option)

Step 5. Connect to Supermicro web site (click here), search your motherboard (e.g. “X11DPi-NT”), then download and extract the ZIP archive

Step 6. Check the readme file to find the correct .bin file for the installation, then extract BIN file from the ZIP archive

Step 7. From IPMI GUI, access the Firmware Update panel (Maintenance menu, Firmware Update option)

Step 8. Press the button “Enter Update Mode” and confirm the operation

Step 9. Choose the .bin file from the last extracted ZIP file and press the button “Upload Firmware”
