SynetoOS is validated against all major server platforms on the market, ensuring seamless integration between the software and hardware layer and enabling turnkey, automated installation on every validated server platform.
SynetoOS runs on Rocky Linux 9.5+. Any server on the Red Hat hardware certification list for RHEL 9.5 or later is expected to run SynetoOS at the OS and hardware level.
HPE ProLiant Gen9, Gen10 and Gen11 servers equipped with (one of) the components listed below are validated for SynetoOS.

NOTE
Gen9 caveat: HPE published an advisory flagging limitations/behavior changes when running P-series Gen9 Smart Array controllers in full HBA mode (e.g., certain drive-failure/LED and enclosure-management behaviors differ from a true HBA). For pure JBOD/pass-through use cases on Gen9, HPE's own guidance and community consensus favor the dedicated H-series HBAs over toggling a P-series controller into HBA mode.

NOTE
SR and MR are two distinct, non-interchangeable controller families sharing the Gen11 generation. Moving volumes or self-encrypting-drive (SED) locked drives between an SR controller and an MR controller is explicitly not supported.
