How to Configure Dell PowerEdge 14th Generation to Install Hyperion

This procedure requires a full system reboot and will erase any existing RAID configuration
 

Step 1. Reboot the server

Step 2. During the boot-up press F10 to enter the Lifecycle Controller menu

Step 3. Navigate to System Setup and select Advanced Hardware Configuration

 

Step 4. Select Device Settings

 

Step 5. Select Dell PERC RAID Controller

EXAMPLE
Dell PERC H750 

 

Step 6. Select Main Menu

 

Step 7. Select Controller Management

 

Step 8. Select Advanced Controller Management

 

Step 9. Select Manage Controller Mode

 

Step 10. Select Non-RAID Disk, then click on Apply Changes

 

Step 11. Select Confirm, then click on Yes

 

Step 12. Select OK

 

Step 13 (Optional). If there are operating system disks on the BOSS controller, from the Step 5 menu, select BOSS-S1 Configuration Utility

If a BOSS controller is present, also perform Step 14 (Optional)

EXAMPLE
Dell BOSS-S1

 

Step 14 (Optional). Select Delete RAID Configuration

 

Step 15. Disconnect pool disks

Disconnect all unnecessary HDDs and USB drives, leaving only the two disks intended for the OS and the Hyperion installation media connected. Once the first boot is complete, reinsert the remaining HDDs.
