How to add a VLAN-backed virtual network to a VM on Syneto Hyperion

Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI

Step 2. From Virtualization menu, click on Virtual machines

 

Step 3. Select the virtual machine you want to add the VLAN

 

Step 4. In the top right corner, click on the three dots and then on Edit Hardware

 

Step 5. It is now possible to assign a VLAN to the virtual machine. Click Update to apply the changes.

For the changes to take effect, the virtual machine must be rebooted or the changes must be made while it is powered off.

On Windows, the network interface may be rediscovered, requiring a "Network Location" selection (Public/Private/Domain).

In some cases, a network restart or reset may be required to apply the settings or update the firewall profiles correctly.
