SynetoOS 4 quick setup

→ Applies to: SynetoOS 4.7.7 and above

Ensure the following prerequisites are met before starting:

– Working Internet connection
– Available IP address to be assigned to SynetoOS

 

Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI (replace <your_ip_address_or_hostname> with the correct ip/hostname)

Step 2. Click Start

 

Step 3. Accept end user license agreement and click on Next

 

Step 4. Configure Network and click on Next

 

Step 5. Configure date and time and click on Next

 

Step 6. Configure your Syneto Central account and click on Next

In case of a Syneto hardware appliance, the activation key is not required.
In case of a Syneto virtual appliance, the activation key is supplied with the purchased product.
The format of the key is: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. If this is your first purchase, you must create a new Central account.

 

Step 7. Click on Next

 

Step 8. Enable Serenity service and click on Next

 

Step 9. Set a password for SynetoOS Management VM and click on Next

 

Step 10. Set a password for VMware ESXI hypervisor and click on Next

 

Step 11 (optional). Enable Active Directory (if necessary) and click on Next

 

 

Step 12. Click on Add recipient

 

Step 13. Enter the email address and click Add

 

Step 14. Verify the email address and click Next

 

Step 15 (optional). Configure an SMTP server (if available) and click Next

 

Step 16 (optional). Check for updates (if available) and install them

 

Step 17. Click Finish to complete the installation process

 

Step 18. Wait for the system to automatically restart
