Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI (replace <your_ip_address_or_hostname> with the correct ip/hostname)

Step 2. From System menu, click on Alerts
Step 3. Click Configure
Step 4. Fill in the required fields to configure an SMTP server, then click on Send test email
- Server address: enter the hostname or IP address of the SMTP server (e.g. “smtp.gmail.com” or “mail.company.com”). This is the server that will handle email delivery.
- Server port: port used to connect to the SMTP server. Default value: 587 for STARTTLS connections, 465 for SSL/TLS connections, 25 for unencrypted connections (not recommended).
- Encryption:
- None/StartTLS: connection starts unencrypted and then is upgraded to TLS.
- SSL: connection is encrypted from the start.
- Authentication required: if enabled, credentials are required to send emails.
- Username: email address or SMTP username.
- Password: password associated with the SMTP username.
- Specify sender email: if enabled, allows specifying the email address displayed as the sender in outgoing messages.
- Sender email address: the email address that will appear in the “From” field.
- Test SMTP configuration: allows verifying that the SMTP configuration works correctly.
- Test email recipient: email address to which the test email will be sent.
- Verification code: code provided in the test email, to be entered here to confirm correct operation.
Step 5. Type the Verification code, then click on Validate and save configuration
Step 6. Click on Create contact point, then click on Finish
