This document describes the correct and recommended shutdown procedure for a Syneto system.

Step 1. Shutdown all data VMs

Gracefully shut down all running virtual machines hosted on the Syneto platform.

IMPORTANT
Do NOT shut down the SynetoOS virtual machine during this step.
SynetoOS must remain running until all other virtual machines are completely powered off.

Step 2. Shutdown SynetoOS VM

Once all VMs are powered off, proceed with the graceful shutdown of the SynetoOS virtual machine.

Step 3. Shutdown VMware ESXi

After SynetoOS has been completely shut down, safely power off the VMware ESXi host.
