How to Import VMs in SynetoOS 6

This process allows virtual machines on an external VMware ESXi host to be imported into the VMware ESXi managed by Syneto.

WARNING
Import requires downtime.

 

Step 1. Login to SynetoOS GUI

https://<your_ip_address_or_hostname>

 

Step 2. From Virtualization menu, click on Hypervisors

 

Step 3. Click on Add hypervisor button

 

Step 4. Fill in the required fields to add an external VMware ESXi hypervisor or a vCenter, then click Add

 

Step 5. From Virtualization menu, click on Virtual machines

 

Step 6. Select the VM you want to import

 

Step 7. In the top right corner, click on the three dots and then on Import

 

Step 8. Click on Next button

In the “Register on” menu, if “Do not register” is selected, the VM must be manually registered to the desired hypervisor after import. Otherwise, you can directly select one of the hypervisors available to automatically register the VM.

 

Step 9. Click on Next button

 

Step 10. Check the entire configuration and click on Import
