IMPORTANT
This demonstration features SynetoOS version 6.1.0. If you are running an earlier version, certain functionalities and interface elements may vary or be unavailable.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the operational heart of SynetoOS, providing a real-time view of the entire infrastructure. It handles:

  • Monitoring the health of the infrastructure and live performance metrics.
  • Overseeing resource utilization in real-time.
  • Auditing the history and progress of every system operation through the Tasks tab.

Virtualization

The Virtualization section manages the full lifecycle of virtual environments, from hypervisors to individual workloads. It includes:

  • Managing underlying infrastructure such as VMware hosts directly from SynetoOS via the Hypervisors tab.
  • Controlling individual virtual machines, including power status, hardware specifications, and protection history.
  • Centralizing ISO files and templates in the Image Repository, organized by storage pool for quick deployment.

Protection

The Protection section defines the data resilience strategy and ensures operational continuity. Its key functions include:

  • Configuring SLA Policies to set backup frequencies and retention periods.
  • Managing Replication targets for offsite recovery.
  • Monitoring active Replicas.

Storage

The Storage section provides a granular view of storage hardware across both physical and logical layers. It manages:

  • Physical Drives, logical Pools, and Volumes.
  • Health monitoring, space efficiency, and data reduction ratios in real-time.

Network

The Network section manages the infrastructure's network connectivity. It handles:

  • Configuring physical network connections.
  • Managing network bonds for redundancy and performance.
  • Setting up virtual switches for VM traffic.

Security

Security is built into SynetoOS, centralizing authentication and access management. Its responsibilities include:

  • Enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA) and continuous security layers via the Authentication menu.
  • Managing administrator accounts and MFA status through the Users tab.
  • Enabling secure automation with third-party tools via the API Keys tab.

System

The System area centralizes global configuration and maintenance settings. It handles:

  • Configuring Notifications to receive immediate alerts for critical events.
  • Managing Licenses and setting date and time.
  • Checking and applying Software Updates to keep the system secure and up to date.
  • Viewing detailed hardware and software versions in the About section.

Top Bar

The Top Bar provides quick access to global interface functions, always available at the top of the screen. It allows users to:

  • Manage their User profile.
  • Access Power options for shutdown or restart.
  • Change the Interface language.
  • Get Support through the Syneto AI bot.
