SynetoOS is validated against all major server platforms on the market, ensuring seamless integration between the software and hardware layer and enabling turnkey, automated installation on every validated server platform. 
SynetoOS runs on Rocky Linux 9.5+. Any server on the Red Hat hardware certification list for RHEL 9.5 or later is expected to run SynetoOS at the OS and hardware level.

Lenovo ThinkSystem V3 and V4 servers equipped with (one of) the components listed below are validated for SynetoOS.

Required Components

Below components are required for SynetoOS Hyperion or VMware ESXi hypervisor.

Boot Environment

SynetoOS requires a separate boot environment for the operating system on the hardware platform(s). 

SynetoOS Hyperion

The SynetoOS automated installer installs Hyperion on the following configurations:

Select only one of the boot environment options.
Do not select multiple components, as they are alternative solutions for the same purpose.

VMware ESXi

A boot environment for ESXi is a dedicated boot controller + 2x SSDs/NVMes in RAID. The SynetoOS operating system will be installed on the boot environment if present.

Data Disk Controller(s)

Servers that include the following RAID and/or HBA controllers are compatible with SynetoOS requirements:

NOTE

• Lenovo ThinkSystem RAID controllers support JBOD mode. 
• A RAID-on-Chip controller in "JBOD mode" still routes I/O through the RAID firmware and cache; SMART passthrough, TRIM/UNMAP and drive identity can be filtered or altered depending on firmware.
• HBA controllers are recommended if available.
• Ensure that you are running the latest firmware.

Out-of-Band Management

Syneto recommends to use Out-of-Band Management solutions with support for KVM, Remote Virtual CDROM and Console.
