How to add a new user in Cloud Gate

Step 1. Login to Cove GUI

Step 2. From Management menu, click on Users

 

Step 3. Click on Add user

It is necessary to select the customer for which the user will be created. 
The created user will have access exclusively to the selected customer.

 

Step 4. Fill in the form, then click on Save

  • Customer: choose one of the available customers.
  • Email: email address.
  • Role: the role to assign to the user.
    • SuperUser: Full administrative access to all system functions, including user management, recovery operations, and configuration tasks.
    • Administrator: Manages devices, recovery tasks, and system configurations. Cannot manage users or perform passphrase-related operations.
    • Manager: Oversees backup and recovery activities. Has permissions to launch backups and manage contacts, but limited access to administrative features.
    • Operator: Executes basic operational tasks such as launching backups and viewing device statistics. No access to configuration or recovery settings.
    • Supporter: Read-only role with very limited permissions. Cannot manage or execute any tasks beyond viewing certain data.
  • Job title (optional): user’s job title.
  • Phone number (optional): user’s phone number.
  • Security officer (flag): this flag grants the user additional privileges to request and generate passphrases, which are required for secure recovery operations. It can be combined with any role above to elevate permissions for security-sensitive tasks.
