Step 1. Login to Cove GUI

Step 2. From Management menu, click on Downloads

Step 3. Click on Add Device

Step 4. Fill in the form, then click on Next

• Customer: choose one of the available customers.
• Retention policy: defines how long the backups will be stored (e.g. backups older than 30 days will be deleted). You can edit or create retention policies clicking on “Manage retention policies”.
• Profile (optional): a backup profile can predefine settings such as backup schedules, selected folders, and other options. You can edit or create new profiles clicking on “Manage profiles”.
• Operating system: select the OS of the machine where the backup agent will be installed.
• Encryption: choose one of the two available encryption methods:
  • Managed (Recommended): the system automatically generates and securely stores the encryption key within the management console.
  • Self-managed: you manually define and manage your own encryption passphrase.

Step 5. Click on Download, then click on Finish

Step 6. Install the Backup Manager agent on the system

IMPORTANT
It is mandatory not to change the name of the downloaded Backup Manager.
