How to deploy SynetoOS 6 VA (Virtual Appliance)

→ Applies to: SynetoOS 6.x and above

 

Step 1. Login to VMware ESXi GUI (replace <your_ip_address_or_hostname> with the correct information)

Step 2. Deploy SynetoOS 6 virtual appliance from the OVA file
 

  • Provide a name for the new SynetoOS 6 VM


 

  • Select datastore1 for storage

IMPORTANT
Make sure to have at least 100 GB of storage space available.

 

  • Select the correct “Network mappings”, set “Disk provisioning” to Thick and uncheck “Power on automatically”

VM Network = VM Network
Syneto HC API Network = Syneto HC API Network
 

Disk provisioning
If less than 100 GB of storage space are available, set the disk provisioning to Thin

 

  • After deployment, you should be able to see the following VMs, named Syneto***

 

Step 3. Configure SynetoOS 6

  • Access VM settings (right click → Edit Settings)
     
  • Reserve 32GB of RAM for SynetoOS 6

    Expand the Memory section and select Reserve all guest memory (All locked)
