VMware Skyline is an automated support technology that uses data from your infrastructure to identify potential risks such as configuration errors, security vulnerabilities, and hardware incompatibilities and provides specific, actionable solutions before they lead to system downtime.

Step 1. Connect to VMware Skyline via SSH as root (replace <your_ip_address_or_hostname> with the correct ip)

ssh root@<your_ip_address_or_hostname>

Step 2. Reset VMware Skyline password

shd-config resetadmin

The command will prompt you to enter the new password twice for verification

• New password: You will be prompted to type the new password you want to set.
• Re-enter the password: You will be prompted to type the exact same password again to ensure you typed it correctly.

EXAMPLE

root@vmware [ ~ ]# shd-config resetadmin

Pasword should have characters from 2 classes of Group1 and 1 from Group 2
Ex: ThisISV@lid
    ThisIsVali$Too
User name: shd-admin
New Password:
Re-enter the password:
Password change for "shd-admin" completed.

Step 3 (optional). Check that no errors occur

If you receive this error:

root@vmware [ ~ ]# shd-config resetadmin
