Step 1. Login to VMware ESXi GUI (replace <your_ip_address_or_hostname> with the correct ip/hostname)

Step 2. Deploy Syneto OS5 virtual appliance from the OVA file

• Provide a name for the new SynetoOS 5 VM

• Select datastore1 for storage

IMPORTANT
Make sure to have at least 100 GB of storage space available.

• Select the correct “Network mappings”, set “Disk provisioning” to Thick and uncheck “Power on automatically”

Disk provisioning

If less than 100 GB of storage space are available, set the disk provisioning to Thin

• After deployment, you should be able to see the following VMs, named Syneto*
  
  

Step 3. Configure SynetoOS 5

• Access VM settings (right click → Edit Settings)
   
• Reserve 32GB of RAM for SynetoOS5
  
  Expand the Memory section and select Reserve all guest memory (All locked)
