Introduction
SynetoOS 6.0.4 is a maintenance release focused on improving operational resilience through enhanced storage capacity management, more reliable data protection workflows, and increased platform stability.
New Features
Storage Management
Storage pool management has been enhanced with configurable warning and critical capacity thresholds. When a destination pool reaches its critical threshold, incoming replications are automatically paused until sufficient free space becomes available, protecting backup operations from running out of storage.
This release also introduces clearer storage utilisation indicators, improved warning messages, and more accurate email notifications for warning, critical, and resolved capacity events.
Data Protection
Improved the reliability of SLA replication policies by resolving issues affecting configurations that combine local and remote replication targets.
The virtual machine snapshot warning has also been enhanced to better explain how SynetoOS-managed snapshots interact with snapshots created outside SynetoOS.
Virtualization
Virtualization workflows have been improved by preventing ESXi hosts from entering maintenance mode while powered-on virtual machines are still running.
This release also adds support for ISO and OVA uploads larger than 10 GB and improves compatibility with external storage systems by expanding support for valid iSCSI Qualified Names (IQNs).
Platform Reliability
Improved the reliability of software updates from earlier SynetoOS 6.0.x versions.
Enhanced automatic recovery of monitoring services following unexpected infrastructure disruptions, ensuring missing monitoring components are automatically redeployed
In addition, this release includes numerous usability improvements and bug fixes across storage management, alerting, and system operations.
